A little info about me….

Hello.  My name is Natalie and I’m a female person living in Northern California at the moment.  I am a writer and a photographer.  Of course, I still have a day job too, in which also write and take pictures.

I am many things.  One of which is opinionated, as you will come to know if you spend any time here.

I am overweight, and have been most of my adult life.  I am a type 2 diabetic.  I do my best to eat well and exercise, but sometimes that just isn’t happening.

I am bi-sexual.  By which I mean I have attraction to both genders and am more likely to desire a physical relationship with someone who tickles my intellect than someone who turns my head, regardless of gender.

I am Pagan, though I’m not fluffy or white light or Wiccan or any of the commonly popular sorts of Pagan.  I come to what I believe through a long, circuitous path through a landscape of various Christian sects, agnosticism, experimentation and long, long periods of questioning.  Some day I’ll post about stuff like that and you’ll understand more.  Or leave a comment, ask a question, poke me to answer.

I am, on many fronts, but most notably the political, I am liberal.  Very liberal.  I believe in personal responsibility and individual rights.  I support the constitution.  I am patriotic.  I believe in the right to disagree and the need for discourse.  Fiscally I am much more conservative.   Raised in a single parent home where money was a precious commodity that kept us alive, it galls me to see it squandered in so many useless ways.

I am living paycheck to paycheck, one layoff away from oblivion…which sounds like an awesome title for a blog post.  I am barely scraping by…but I’m scraping by which is more than many can say in this country.

I am educated.  I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a specialty in project management.

I am employed at a job I mostly like that gives me what I need to survive.

I am a daughter to a mother and a father, a step-mother and a step-father.  I am sister to one brother.  I am an aunt to one niece and one nephew.  I am friends of many from many walks of life and from all over the globe.

I am a fangirl.  A geek.  A fan of sci-fi.  A follower of good music, with an eclectic taste that varies from classical to pop, from classic rock to heavy metal, from bluegrass to the blues.

I am many more things, and I’m sure that along the way we’ll touch on those too…but anything and everything I am is up for discussion.

Hi Natalie, I came across your posts on CNN belief blog, I am considering my own blog of similar interest and appreciate your desire for “Civil Discourse”. I will look forward to reading and commenting here.

Hi Michael, I’m sorry it took me so long to respond. I saw the comment come in, then promptly got caught up in life things that kept me from coming back and saying Hi.

Welcome. I hope you come around (when I remember I have a blog and should say stuff on it) and we can share some civil discourse on whatever the subject of the day is.

    Hello Natalie,

Like you, I have a fondness in photography and have recently become driven to aspire in the arts of the written word. In 1973, I “joined” (enlisted) into the Army and my job was as a phot-lab specialist where at Fort Bragg, N.C. I did work mostly with civilians at the base’s main’ photo lab/magazine building. I was honoarbly discharged in January of 1976. In my early years of schooling, I went to Berks County Pennsylvania’s Vocational Educational Center, (Vo-Tech for short) and my class was clalled ‘Commercial Arts’, where our teacher, Mr Roth taught us students about many different things such as photography, developing photo-negatives and printing them, drawing and sketching, and the ways of creating magazines via an offset printing press. Such as my Life progressed, I have now a sedentary lifestyle that leaves much room for improvements.

I am of the heterosexual persuasion even though I had in my prior life, bouts with the same sex. I have a female cousin who was married, had a son, then divorced and had many affairs with both sexes. I have not heard from her in quite some time. She, living in Pa. and my living in Florida could be the reason, LoL!

I could write on and on but I will now end my letter to you Natalie with this Word, “Walk Placidly amid the noise and waste remembering always the peace to be found in finding peace thereof and in taking a chance, do so with revelry relying soley upon your skills and desires to raise up from Life’s wastefulness anyone who you become known of and to.”

    In all Honesty,
    Richard S. Kaiser
